Among them is professional soldier Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Luong - Cultural staff of Regiment 5 Club. He has been involved in the amateur journalism profession for nearly 5 years and has become a regular contributor to newspapers: Military Region 7, People's Army, Tay Ninh ...
Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Luong was born in 1993, in a farming family in An Lap commune, Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province. In 2018, he volunteered to perform military service, enlisting in Company 21, Regiment 5.
During his studies and work, he always completed his tasks excellently. In 2019, the unit commander created conditions for him to take the entrance exam to the Military University of Culture and Arts, majoring in Culture and Mass Arts. After 3 years of studying, in 2022, he graduated from school and returned to his unit to work as a Cultural Officer of the Regiment Club.
Lieutenant Luong's current job is to maintain and manage the regiment's shock art troupe; film, take pictures, and create central reports using video clips for conferences... sometimes urgent and overlapping work requires him to work both at noon and in the evening.
When asked about his journey to become a journalist, Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Luong confided: “Since I was little, I had the habit of sitting and listening to my grandfather read the newspaper. He read slowly, in a warm voice, while reading, he explained to me stories about people, the country, and life through each page of the newspaper. Those moments planted in me a love for journalism, like a seed quietly growing in my soul.
When I entered the military environment, I began to be curious about how people write an article, about the power of words when touching the hearts of readers. It can be said that the military is where there are many beautiful stories about comradeship, about silent sacrifices, I see more clearly the responsibility and meaning of each page written. So I have been destined for journalism without knowing it, the more I write, the more attached I become to the profession.
Although he had never attended any training or education in journalism, with all his passion, effort, self-study and research, Luong has made his dream come true. Every time he went to his unit to take photos, film, or gather information to write articles, the young soldiers still called him affectionately “Journalist Thanh Luong”.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Manh Hien - Political Commissar of Regiment 5 said: "Luong is a person with a sociable and cheerful lifestyle, helping his comrades and teammates in carrying out their tasks. Especially in Luong, we see a spirit of enthusiastic work, high responsibility with the motto "finish the job, not finish the time"; therefore, when assigned any task, we feel secure.
In addition, Luong also helps the unit promote propaganda work, spread good models, creative ways of doing things; good people, good deeds on mass media, which are highly appreciated by superiors.
Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Luong said that there was a memory that he will always remember in his writing journey, which was the first time the article titled "Exciting and practical "Law Day" at Regiment 5, Division 5" was published in the Military Region 7 Newspaper.
At first, he could not believe his eyes. The feeling when he saw his name printed clearly at the end of the article was both exciting and elated. After that, he read it over and over again, took a picture and sent it to show off to his family, friends, comrades, and teammates, and was congratulated and praised by everyone.
“That is a great motivation, fueling my enthusiasm to be more confident in the path I have chosen. Journalism has allowed me to witness, experience and contemplate; to get to know many reporters, colleagues and collaborators inside and outside the army.
Since then, I have wanted to live my passion to the fullest. Therefore, I am still trying to continue to explore, create, and give birth to many spiritual "children", contributing my small part to building a strong and comprehensive unit "Exemplary, typical", a good, civilized, and developed society" - Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Luong shared.
With his efforts, determination and effectiveness in professional work as well as in the field of journalism and propaganda, Lieutenant Nguyen Thanh Luong was awarded the title of advanced soldier and grassroots emulation soldier by the unit commander for three consecutive years; and was annually awarded a certificate of merit by the Division for his outstanding achievements in internal journalism and broadcasting activities on the occasion of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. In particular, in 2023, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Military Region Command and won second prize in the category of stage work "Soldier's Diary" in the contest for composing and disseminating literary and artistic works on the theme "Fighting the epidemic, saving people". |
