Active bridge for Vietnam-Pakistan local business cooperation

On July 17, Vietnamese Ambassador to Pakistan Pham Anh Tuan had a meeting and worked with Chairman of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Ushman Shaukat to promote bilateral trade.

Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan worked with Chairman of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Ushman Shaukat.

At the meeting, the President of RCCI affirmed that with more than 13,000 members and a wide range of activities, RCCI is the third largest chamber of commerce in Pakistan, after Karachi and Lahore, playing an important role as a bridge for Pakistan in international trade activities.

RCCI leaders expressed their impression of the strong development potential of the Vietnamese economy , especially in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, biotechnology and medical supplies. RCCI enterprises have been present in the Vietnamese market since 2005, cooperating with partners in Vietnam, currently exporting pharmaceutical shipments to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi every month. In particular, RCCI leaders highly appreciated the high standards of the Vietnam Drug Administration (VDA) and wished to strengthen coordination between the management agencies of the two countries in this field.

The two sides agreed to coordinate in organizing business delegations to visit and work in Vietnam and Pakistan in the coming time.

The Ambassador acknowledged the contributions of the business communities of the two countries to promoting bilateral trade and proposed directions to enhance business connections and exchange business delegations in areas where RCCI has strengths such as pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, livestock, and agricultural products; emphasized the need to promote business delegations, investors, and importers and exporters with real potential, avoiding trips that are just formalities.

The two sides agreed to coordinate the organization of business delegations to visit and work in Vietnam and Pakistan in the coming time. At the same time, the Chairman also invited the Vietnamese Ambassador to attend the MedHealth Expo organized by RCCI at the end of July in Islamabad with the participation of leading pharmaceutical, medical equipment and hospital enterprises.
