Heavy rain warning in Phu Tho province due to storm No. 5

On the afternoon of August 25, Phu Tho Province's Hydrometeorological Station informed about storm No. 5 and forecasted its impact on the province.

Accordingly, at 1:00 p.m. on August 25, the center of storm No. 5 was located at about 18.5 degrees North latitude, 106.3 degrees East longitude in the coastal waters of Nghe An - Ha Tinh . The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 13, gusting to level 16; moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of 15-20km/hour.

Forecast by 7pm on September 25, the eye of the storm is at about 18.7 degrees North latitude, 105.5 degrees Longitude on the mainland of Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh provinces. The strongest wind near the eye of the storm is level 10-11, gusting to level 13.

The fishing village area, Hoa Binh ward is always ready to move when affected by heavy rain and storms.

Due to the influence of storm No. 5, Phu Tho province has strong winds of level 3-4. From August 25 to the end of August 26, the province will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some places having very heavy rain.

Rainfall is common in the northern and southern regions of the province, including forecast locations: Ha Hoa, Cam Khe, Thanh Ba, Doan Hung, Phong Chau, Phu Ninh, Tam Nong, Lam Thao, Viet Tri, Vinh Yen, Vinh Phuc, Tam Dao, Binh Xuyen, Tam Duong, Lap Thach, Song Lo, Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac: From 50-100mm, some places over 150mm.

Western and Southwestern areas of the province, including forecast locations: Tan Son, Thanh Thuy, Thanh Son, Minh Dai, Yen Lap, Hoa Binh, Da Bac, Tan Lac, Mai Chau, Kim Boi, Cao Phong, Luong Son, Yen Thuy, Lac Thuy, Lac Son: From 100-150mm, some places over 200mm.

Heavy rain reduces visibility when participating in traffic, causing slippery, potential traffic accidents; can overload the urban drainage system, causing flooding in residential areas; flooding crops, saturated soil causing crops to fall. Heavy rain with strong winds can break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure. In particular, continuous heavy rain leads to a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas. People need to pay attention to prevention and ensure safety.
