The XC70 is officially back in Volvo's lineup, but as a plug-in hybrid crossover rather than a pure gasoline-powered wagon.

Volvo Cars has just announced the all-new XC70 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV, which has the company's longest pure electric range ever, reaching more than 200 km on the CLTC test cycle. The XC70 is initially intended for the Chinese market, then expanded to Europe.

Volvo XC70 PHEV is developed based on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform with 7 paint colors. Volvo XC70 is considered an intermediate point for customers who want to experience electric cars but want to retain the flexibility of internal combustion engines.

The XC70's exterior features a distinctive Scandinavian style, with a closed grille that opens and closes automatically to optimize aerodynamics and cooling, Thor's Hammer headlights and Viking Axe-style C-shaped taillights.

The overall length of the Volvo XC70 SUV is 4,815 mm and the wheelbase is 2,895 mm. The luggage space of the XC70 is 408 liters, which can be expanded to 1,456 liters when the seats are folded flat into the floor.

The XC70's interior features a 15.4-inch central screen with integrated satellite navigation, a giant 92-inch HUD (optional) and an AI voice control system.

There's also a 50-watt wireless phone charger and 23 premium audio speakers, 3-zone automatic climate control with rear view monitor, heated rear seats, ambient lighting...

Scandinavian-style wood trim package and floating center console with stowable cup holders. The XC70 appeals with fast charging technology and a 1.5-liter turbocharged I4 engine, 120 kW (161 hp), top speed of 180 km/h.

With a 100% battery charge and a full tank of fuel, the XC70 can travel more than 1,200 km (745 miles), Volvo says. The XC70's all-electric range far exceeds the 200 km (124 miles) on the CLTC test cycle.

This is the most outstanding figure compared to any mass-produced Volvo model to date, choosing the plug-in hybrid route further confirms that the demand for fully electric cars is currently not really strong enough.

Fast charging for this model from 0-80%, about 23 minutes, every XC70 is equipped with bi-directional charging technology (V2L), allowing the battery to power external devices.

Volvo XC70 is only for the Chinese market, developed on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform with 7 paint colors.

The price of the Volvo XC70 PHEV front-wheel drive version starts at 299,900 yuan, about 41,920 USD, equivalent to 1.09 billion VND. The AWD all-wheel drive version starts at 329,900 yuan, about 46,120 USD, equivalent to 1.2 billion VND.
