Ho Chi Minh City has officially inaugurated the Innovation and Startup Hub (SIHUB) at 123 Truong Dinh, Xuan Hoa Ward. The project is expected to become an ideal destination, strongly promoting the city's startup ecosystem, aiming to be among the 100 cities with the most vibrant innovation ecosystems in the world .

SIHUB, under the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, was established under the decision of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The project has a scale of 11 floors, a total area of nearly 17,000 m², and started construction in October 2020 with a total investment of more than 320 billion VND.

With a prime location in the city center and a clear strategic orientation, SIHUB is positioned as a transit station for ideas and technology, as well as a bridge between resources, contributing to the formation of a sustainable startup environment.

The SIHUB building is designed with two main spaces. The first three floors are for state-run startup community support activities, including co-working spaces, open networking areas, training and event rooms. The first floor features an indoor exhibition space, a co-working café area and flexible meeting rooms.

The entrance to the hall on the 2nd floor is uniquely designed, starting from the open space for outdoor exhibition on the 1st floor through a staircase combined with seating, creating an architectural highlight and space for interaction.

The top floors of SIHUB will focus on in-depth research activities and international cooperation, aiming to attract global experts, scientists and businesses. This is also where social resources such as incubators, venture capital funds, domestic and foreign technology corporations converge, creating favorable conditions for startups to receive direct consultation and capital calling.

The interior space of SIHUB is designed to be open and flexible with many diverse areas such as a co-working area, conference room, and a startup product display area. In particular, the 6th floor will be the workspace of the Ho Chi Minh City International Finance Center, creating a favorable combination for startups in the field of financial technology (Fintech).

SIHUB is expected to be a bridge between knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship, strongly promoting the connection between "State - School - Enterprise".

The center not only provides infrastructure but also plays the role of a focal point for comprehensive startup support, from legal advice, intellectual property protection, digital transformation to capital calling support, investment connections and international cooperation. This is also a place to test new policies, opening up opportunities for startups to access social resources, advanced technology and global knowledge.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: "The birth of SIHUB is a strategic step in the roadmap to upgrade the city, aiming to be among the 100 cities with the most vibrant innovation ecosystems in the world. The center is designed to become a common home for the startup ecosystem, where ideas are incubated, nurtured and developed".

The 8th floor, the highest floor of the building, is arranged as an indoor and outdoor bar and cafe area, promising to be an ideal space for startups to interact and regenerate positive energy.

The operation of SIHUB is considered a strong message about Ho Chi Minh City's determination to accompany the startup community. The city wishes to build an open space where individuals, startup groups and businesses can find practical support, close cooperation and knowledge sharing.

This is expected to be the premise to help Ho Chi Minh City not only become the innovation center of Vietnam but also a bright spot in Southeast Asia and gradually affirm its position on the global startup map.
