In early February, Hoang Minh Duc, a freelance photographer, and his friends from Hanoi, not wanting to miss the plum blossom season, decided to travel to Moc Chau during the coldest and rainiest days. Minh Duc's group chose to camp in the plum forests in Pa Phach and Phieng Canh villages.

Because homestays and hotels in Moc Chau are always fully booked on weekends, many young tourists choose to camp. Minh Duc came to Moc Chau on the coldest day of the first cold spell of the year but did not hesitate to bring his own camping gear and cook outdoors.

What could be better for camping enthusiasts than a hot pot meal with friends under the white plum blossoms. Minh Duc said: “It’s a little cold, a little lacking, but this feeling cannot be fully felt in a homestay or hotel. Especially sitting under the plum trees eating hot pot.”

“The locals are quite friendly, they don’t charge for camping, they only charge a garden entrance fee of about 30,000 VND/person,” Minh Duc shared. In addition to warm clothes, Minh Duc said that those who choose to camp overnight need to bring heat pads, air mattresses, sleeping bags and especially a windproof tent.

Plum blossom season 2025 is considered the most beautiful and crowded blooming season ever in Moc Chau. If during the day the plum blossoms bloom dreamily in pure white, then at night, plum blossoms viewed in the light of lights and fire have a different and unforgettable beauty.

Choosing to go on cold, rainy, foggy days and early in the week helped Minh Duc's group experience the deserted plum valley.

Minh Duc's group campsite is located in the middle of a valley of white plum blossoms. The early morning scene is immersed in cold fog but still makes visitors feel nostalgic because of the beauty of plum blossoms that only bloom once a year.

Minh Duc and his friends' spring trip to see plum blossoms in Moc Chau also included the dog Chopper.

Even though the sun was not shining brightly, the flowers were not shining brightly, even though everything was wet and the sky was gray, this was the trip with the most memories in Moc Chau for the male tourist.

According to the People's Committee of Moc Chau Town, it is estimated that in the first two months of 2025, Moc Chau will welcome nearly 1 million visitors with an estimated social revenue of 1,200 billion VND. Currently, from the end of February onwards, most of the plum gardens have withered, instead, visitors can visit the canola flower gardens, experience picking early-season strawberries...
