Japan is taking various measures to boost its birth rate.

Kyodo News reported that the Japanese parliament , one of the countries with the lowest birth rate, has passed a bill to expand the scope of child benefits. From October, the age group eligible for the 10,000 yen/month support (VND 1.7 million) will include those aged 16-18. The 15,000 yen/month support for the third child and beyond will be doubled to 30,000 yen. The Tokyo government also plans to increase annual spending on child care from 11% to 16% of GDP.

Meanwhile, in South Korea, the Seoul government is pushing for various measures in addition to financial support to improve birth rates. Yonhap quoted South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol as saying that he has asked the National Assembly to cooperate in establishing a Low Birth Rate Response Ministry. "We will mobilize all national resources to overcome the low birth rate, which is considered a national emergency," President Yoon said.

In parallel with the government's measures, many companies in some countries have decided to support the country's common efforts. The Korea Herald reported that Booyoung Construction Group (South Korea) implemented a policy of giving 100 million won (about 1.87 billion VND) in cash to each child born to its employees after 2021. The company also pledged to allow employees with 3 or more children to choose between 300 million won or rent-free housing with an area of less than 85 square meters for their family if the government agrees to provide land for building a house.

Other South Korean companies have taken similar measures, with agricultural equipment maker TYM offering 100 million won to workers who have a third or more children, and construction project management company HanmiGlobal promising to promote workers one level up if they have a third child.

Last year, Trip.com, one of the world's largest online travel agencies in China, announced that employees who worked at least three years would receive a bonus of 10,000 yuan (more than 35 million VND) for each child born, from the child's first birthday until the child turns 5, according to CNN.
