Military hospitals deploy electronic medical records

Major General Do Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering chaired and delivered a speech.

Implementing the direction of the Head of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, the Military Medical Department has issued an official dispatch to guide and urge relevant agencies and units to actively implement the construction of electronic medical records at military hospitals.

To date, Military Hospital 103 (Military Medical Academy), Military Hospital 110 (Military Region 1) have announced the implementation of electronic medical records on the Ministry of Health 's information portal. Military Central Hospital 108, Military Hospital 175 are implementing as planned, expected to be announced on the Ministry of Health 's information portal before August 15.

For the remaining hospitals, they are closely coordinating with the Military Industry-Telecoms Group ( Viettel ) and Tecapro Company to review and agree on the items that need minimum investment for implementation. These two enterprises are conducting procurement procedures and gradually supplementing and upgrading the information technology infrastructure, wifi network, and server rooms at the hospitals.

Regarding the software system, hospitals are completing procedures and forms for medical examination and treatment; gradually surveying, collecting, preparing databases, creating catalog trees, and user accounts when switching to Viettel's Hospital Management Software.

Viettel Group has been coordinating with hospitals to install and configure server systems; upgrade and supplement missing software. Hospitals are also synthesizing the number of digital signatures needed in electronic medical records and making a request to add specialized digital signatures for medical staff, sending it to the Cipher Department (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army).

Regarding the implementation progress of hospitals under the General Department of Logistics and Engineering, up to now, Military Hospital 354 has developed a plan to consolidate and upgrade information technology infrastructure to meet the implementation needs. The hospital's software systems (HIS, LIS, PACS) are determined to be capable of upgrading and integrating with electronic medical records (EMR) software to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Health.

Military Hospital 105 is coordinating to review, supplement, and upgrade its information technology infrastructure. The hospital's software systems (HIS, LIS, PACS, EMR) have been completed and are being trained to instruct staff on how to use them. The EMR software is currently being piloted in a number of departments in the hospital.

Military Hospital 87 is coordinating to review, supplement, and upgrade its information technology infrastructure. Regarding software systems (HIS, LIS, PACS, EMR), the hospital is supplementing missing items; the EMR software is being completed and piloted in some departments in the hospital.

The Military Institute of Radiation Medicine and Oncology is coordinating to review, supplement, and upgrade the information technology infrastructure. Coordinate to review and standardize the catalogs, forms, and processes that need to be deployed on HIS and EMR software; survey and connect the system of devices with LIS and PACS software...

Concluding the working session, Major General Do Anh Tuan commended the agencies, units and hospitals in the General Department for closely following the plan, actively coordinating and implementing electronic medical records on schedule.

Request agencies and units to continue to coordinate closely; support the Military Medical sector in the process of implementing electronic medical records at hospitals in the Army. The Military Medical Department proactively monitors, urges, and inspects units, ensuring progress and quality of implementation.

Hospitals and institutes under the General Department shall review, balance, and mobilize from autonomous revenue sources and other legal funding sources, ensuring the completion of the implementation of electronic medical records according to plan. Be more proactive and active in coordinating with Viettel Group and Tecapro Company to urgently upgrade information technology infrastructure and software to meet the implementation of electronic medical records on schedule.
