The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27 with the participation of more than 1.1 million candidates nationwide.
This is a special exam, organized according to both the 2018 and 2006 generaleducation programs, and takes place in the context that the whole country is urgently implementing the arrangement of the two-level local government model and provincial-level administrative units.
Many students and parents have many emotions and feelings when the exam period ends. As a lecturer at Hanoi University of Culture and a mother, singer Ngoc Khue also shares her thoughts.
VietNamNet would like to publish the original article by singer Ngoc Khue.
''Last night, another sleepless night, I sat quietly thinking about these things - like a mother, like many other parents across the country, whose children have just passed the high school graduation exam with so many mixed emotions.

For the past few days, I have been living in a mixed state of mind: worry, love for my child, and confusion that is hard to name. The English exam - one of the last two exams - has just ended, and it is also the time when the children who seemed to be the strongest bowed their heads, silently and tiredly walked out of the exam room.
Hurried hugs, silent tears, bewildered eyes, hazy looks… I believe that not only I but many other parents have also seen those heartbreaking moments.
As a mother, I feel sorry for my child. As someone who works in education, I understand. I understand the pressure of creating exam questions, organizing a national exam with so many complicated steps and the expectations placed on the industry.
But because of that, I feel more clearly the very real limitations of students, especially the 2K7 generation.
You are special children. You grew up during the pandemic, studied online for a long time, lost knowledge, lacked interaction, interrupted your learning journey but still resiliently compensated with your will and tireless efforts.

Yet when entering this year's exam, especially in Math and English - subjects that require thinking ability and a stable knowledge base - many students were truly exhausted.
English, one of the last two exams, has ended the exam but opened up many worries in the hearts of parents.
Many teachers, students and parents share the same opinion: Math and English exams are highly differentiated, far beyond the reach of most high school students, especially in the context that many students are still struggling to recover from years of interrupted education.
There are students who are good at studying, but they also cry right after the exam because they feel helpless. It is not because they are subjective, nor because they are lazy to study, but because they have placed too many expectations on them, but the exam questions do not truly reflect the real abilities and learning process of most students.
I don't want to lower scores, and I don't want leniency in education. I just hope that when creating an exam that has a big impact on the future of millions of students, we can have a little more empathy.
Try to put yourself in the mindset of a 17-year-old student with many dreams but not enough strength to handle exams like "mind battles".
Children are not test-preparation machines but people growing up, learning to understand themselves and life.

The high school graduation exam should be true to its name and purpose: Assessing general knowledge in a fair, appropriate, and humane manner.
Don't let exams become an obsession, a scar in the memories of school age. Those children need to touch the door of the future with faith, not with tears.
I write these lines with all the love of a mother and the responsibility of an educator. I sincerely hope that the Ministry of Education and Training will listen to reality, to teachers, parents and above all, to the students themselves so that the following exam seasons will be more humane, more realistic and truly for the comprehensive development of learners.
Thank you very much!''
