Ca Mau: Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Victory of Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La

On the morning of November 23, Ca Mau province solemnly held the 60th Anniversary of the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory (November 23, 1963 - November 23, 2023).

In his speech at the ceremony, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai said that, implementing the Central Bureau's Resolution on fighting against "Strategic Hamlets" throughout the South, the Ca Mau Regional Party Committee, the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee of Military Region 9 have advocated: "Launch a large-scale military operation to destroy and wear down the enemy's forces, support the political struggle movement, the uprising of the masses to destroy strategic hamlets, dismantle military posts, liberate and control, and expand the liberated area of Southern Ca Mau" and determined the point of the campaign to be the Cai Nuoc - Dam Doi route. The Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee has complied with the intention of the Regional Party Committee, the Military Region 9 and decided to launch the high tide of "Simultaneously attacking and rising up to destroy the "National Policy on Strategic Hamlets", actively preparing for the campaign on all three fronts: Politics, military, and military affairs.

With high political determination, Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee closely coordinated with the Military Region to prepare conditions and decided to open the campaign with a simultaneous attack on Cai Nuoc and Dam Doi sub-regions on the night of September 10, 1963.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Hai emphasized that the victory of Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La had great historical significance and stature, directly contributing to the bankruptcy of the "Strategic Hamlet National Policy" of the US - puppet regime throughout the South; the bankruptcy of the "helicopter transport" tactic and the complete failure of the "special war" strategy of the US imperialists; marking a new stage of development of the people's war line, affirming the wisdom and ingenuity of our Party in the process of leading the revolutionary struggle and national liberation.

At the ceremony, delegates, historical witnesses and the young generation were able to review the heroic images of the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La victory; and together commemorate and express gratitude to the cadres, soldiers and people who fought and sacrificed in the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La battle.
