Focus on mobilizing resources
Up to now, the whole province has 628/731 national standard schools. Of which, national standard public schools account for nearly 86%. The preschool sector has the highest rate of schools meeting standards with 183/196 schools, reaching over 93%. The primary sector has 270/309 schools meeting standards, accounting for over 87%. The secondary level has 157/174 schools, accounting for over 90%. However, the high school level is still low, with only 18/53 schools meeting standards, accounting for nearly 34%.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan inspected the construction progress of Tan Bang Secondary and High School (Bien Bach commune) in July 2025.
Besides public schools, the province currently has 25 non-public schools (including 20 preschools, kindergartens; 4 primary schools and 1 multi-level school), but of these, only 3 are national standard schools.
Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, said: “The Department of Education and Training is very interested in the construction of national standard schools, considering this a key task to improve the quality of teaching and learning, create a comprehensive educational environment, and meet the requirements of human resource development of the province in the new period. To do this work better, the education sector needs the synchronous coordination of authorities at all levels to promote socialization, mobilize resources to invest in facilities and teaching equipment; at the same time, focus on training a team of teachers to meet the criteria of standard schools."
Preschool level has the highest rate of national standard schools, at 93.36%.
Priority is given to schools that have re-accredited standards.
One of the current difficulties is maintaining and re-recognizing national standard schools after the expiration date. According to statistics, by July 2025, the whole province had 231/731 public schools that had been re-evaluated, accounting for 31.56%. The remaining 179/732 schools had expired their national standard recognition, equivalent to 24.45%.

Faced with this situation, the provincial Department of Education and Training directed educational institutions to develop specific plans to continue to maintain and improve the quality of standard schools. At the same time, review and evaluate the internal strength of each school unit, thereby establishing appropriate and sustainable investment plans. In addition, propaganda work on the role and significance of national standard schools has also been strengthened, in order to mobilize the participation of the entire political system and the social community.
The province also identified prioritizing the allocation of budget for investment in construction and upgrading of facilities and teaching equipment as a key solution in the work of building national standard schools. This source of capital will be focused on schools that have not met standards or are at risk of not being able to maintain standards, especially in difficult areas, remote areas, where students are still disadvantaged in terms of learning conditions.

The construction of a national university is not only an immediate goal but also a long-term foundation for the province's educational development. With the attention and close direction of the provincial leaders, the efforts of the education sector, and the consensus of the whole society, we believe that the national university system in Ca Mau will increasingly expand, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning, meeting the requirements of sustainable development./.
Speaking at a working session with the Department of Education and Training to grasp the situation of the province's education sector after the merger at the end of July, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan emphasized: "The construction of a national university must be associated with improving the quality of comprehensive education, meeting the requirements of innovation. At the same time, mobilizing the synchronous participation of all levels, sectors and the whole society, so that each school is truly a safe, modern and friendly learning environment."
