Ca Mau cooperates with Viettel Group to popularize cheap smartphones to people

On the afternoon of August 20, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation for the 2025-2030 period.

The goal is to strongly promote the province's digital transformation process, gradually improve the province's annual DTI Index ranking in a sustainable manner; create a change in the awareness of cadres, civil servants, public employees, people and businesses about the meaning, role and importance of digital transformation; contribute to the completion of the goals and tasks of digital transformation of Ca Mau province.

The cooperation focuses on the field of digital infrastructure. The two sides cooperate to develop information technology and telecommunications infrastructure to meet the requirements of comprehensive digital transformation in Ca Mau province, ensuring modern synchronization, using the latest technologies; expanding broadband coverage and improving the quality of telecommunications and information technology services. Coordinate to popularize low-cost smartphones for people in the province, ensuring that 100% of the adult population has smartphones and 100% of users have the ability to access fixed broadband with speeds of ≥ 1 Gbps.
