In the world rankings, Chinese women's volleyball is ranked 5th while Mexico is ranked 23rd. The Asian representative is a strong candidate for the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Cup championship.
However, they experienced some unpleasant moments when facing Mexico in Group F on the evening of August 23. In set 1, the Chinese team held the advantage for most of the time but still lost the victory.
They started with a 4-1 lead. But gradually, Mexico with unexpected excitement created an unbelievable comeback 25-23 in this set.
The unexpected loss forced the Chinese women's volleyball team to make adjustments. However, they still had to go through a difficult second set with a series of long draw points.
Finally, thanks to their bravery and experience, China was able to win with a score of 26-24. Continuing the momentum, the Asian representative won 25-10 in set 3.
After that, they continued to experience "close calls" in set 4 before being able to win 25-18. This result marked a favorable start in terms of results but not in terms of playing style for the Chinese women's volleyball team.
Allowing Mexico to dominate at times shows that the Asian team still has a lot to improve.
