After a 3-1 win over Egypt in their opening match at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Cup, Thailand head coach Kiattipong shared his candid thoughts.

Despite the victory, he still said that the team had a difficult match and their performance was still unstable.

The home team has faced much criticism after allowing Egypt (ranked 54th in the world) to lose a set. This will affect their score in the world rankings.

Sharing with Thairath , Coach Kiattipong admitted that his players were somewhat tense and not in good form for the tournament. But everything will change in today's match against Sweden.

However, he was particularly unhappy with the performance in the second set, which Thailand lost 23-25. "The players were too determined, leading to not being able to play comfortably. Our side-out ability was not decisive enough, we could not finish the point and were not successful in the long-term rallies," he analyzed.

He said the Thai team (ranked 21st in the world) will focus all their efforts on defeating their direct opponent Sweden (ranked 26th in the world) to win a ticket to the round of 16.

The match between Thailand and Sweden will take place at 8:30 p.m. tonight (August 24).
