Permanent Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen surveyed the actual facilities at the 175th Brigade Infirmary.

According to the report, the 175th Brigade Infirmary was newly built with a scale of 2 floors, an area of 220m², including 16 functional rooms. In the first 6 months of 2025, the infirmary has successfully completed the task of taking care of the health of officers, soldiers and people in the area, with the rate of healthy soldiers reaching 98.82%, the rate of hospital bed utilization reaching 30%, the rate of discharge from hospital reaching 85%. The unit also examined and provided medicine to 165 cases, treated 1 emergency case and transferred 25 cases.

However, due to the characteristics of the river area and difficult transportation, the facilities and equipment of the infirmary are still lacking and not synchronized. Some essential equipment such as electrocardiogram machines, ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscopy, testing equipment, medical examination and treatment management software, etc. have not been equipped or have degraded, affecting the quality of diagnosis and treatment.

Through the survey, the Ministry of Health requested the Infirmary to coordinate with relevant units to comprehensively assess the health care needs of soldiers and people in the area, thereby developing a report to the competent authority as a basis for the Ministry of Health to consider supporting appropriate equipment.

Brigade 175 initially proposed the Ministry of Health to support some essential medical equipment and supplies to improve the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment. At the same time, it recommended organizing training courses and professional development for military medical staff to update knowledge and improve professional capacity.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen highly appreciated the spirit of overcoming difficulties and proactiveness of the medical staff of Brigade 175, and affirmed that the Ministry of Health will continue to accompany and closely coordinate with the Navy in the work of combining military and civilian medicine, contributing to improving the quality of health care for soldiers and people in the border and island areas in the South of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Health presented the 175th Brigade Infirmary with an electrocardiograph worth 35 million VND.
