On the morning of June 20, continuing to question Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son at the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly, delegate Nguyen Minh Tam ( Quang Binh delegation) mentioned the issue of school violence, especially "online bullying" which is increasingly complicated, affecting the physical, mental and development of students.
"As the head ofthe education sector, when will there be no more school violence in schools? Can the Minister commit to a certain time in the future? What is the responsibility of the school, how to handle this situation when it occurs?", the delegate asked.

The example of adults determines the attitude of students.
Responding to questions, Minister Nguyen Kim Son said that, more than anyone else, educators are always concerned about how to eliminate school violence. Every school is a happy school.
However, the reality shows that schools are an inseparable part of society. The walls surrounding schools are increasingly fragile. The distance between inside and outside the school is gradually being erased by the internet, social networks and modern media. Meanwhile, the problem of violence in society, especially modern society, is still very complicated.
"If you ask me when there will be no more violence in schools, I can say that it will be the day adults stop fighting. That day children will only look at each other with pure love," Mr. Son commented, and said that it will be difficult.
According to educational survey statistics, 70% of students who commit violence against others have special family circumstances, either their parents are divorced or they have witnessed domestic violence or they have been subjected to domestic violence. This affects their psychological life, attitudes, and perspectives.
The above reality shows that a very important part of teaching ethics and personality, deciding students' attitudes, behaviors and conduct lies in the family, in the exemplary role of adults.
Regarding schools, the Minister noted the need to "maximize" control, psychological support, strengthen moral and human education, and increase positive educational activities to limit students from falling into violent behavior.

School meals: "Without vested interests, nothing is difficult"
Delegate Nguyen Hoang Uyen ( Long An delegation) is concerned about the quality of food and school meals. Recently, there have been a number of food poisoning cases that have caused students to be hospitalized, causing great concern to society.
Responding to this content, Minister Nguyen Kim Son said that controlling food and school meals is a big issue, requiring the participation of many sectors and units.
Currently, the regulations and guidelines on food safety for schools are mostly joint circulars between the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health. Mr. Son proposed that the focal point for food safety management should be unified, which is the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Education and Training will fully implement the issues under its responsibility, coordinate with the Ministry of Health to organize inspections and checks.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection and supervision of local government organizations. If the origin of food is not well controlled, the school can only control the tip of the iceberg.
Regarding the school's charter and operating regulations, the responsibilities of meal service staff, etc., the Minister of Education and Training said that inspection and supervision will be strengthened in the near future.
In the debate that followed, delegate Nguyen Van Than (Thai Binh delegation), Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, said that the inspection as the Minister of Education and Training said would only be feasible in the form of surprise inspections, and not all inspections.
Instead, the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises is ready to sign a three-way cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health to create a menu that ensures health and provides food for students.
"As long as there are no vested interests, nothing is difficult. The government has already paid for meals for the children, but if we can't do it, what can we do?" Mr. Than suggested.
