Major General Hoang Van Nam, Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 1 attended the ceremony to award the Fatherland Protection Medal to the Military Region's Finance Department.

The conference announced the President's Decision to award the Fatherland Protection Medal to 1 collective and 7 individuals. Of which: Awarding the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the Finance Department of the Military Region. Awarding the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to Colonel Do Dai Phong, former Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 1. Awarding the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the following comrades: Colonel Cao Quyet Thang, former Deputy Chief Inspector of Military Region 1; Colonel Ho Xuan Vinh, former Head of Artillery Department. Awarding the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the following comrades: Colonel Ta Quang Ngo, former Chief of Politics ; Colonel Hoang Ngoc Bich, former Head of Logistics Department; Colonel Le Hong Hai, former Deputy Head of Engineering Department; Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, former Deputy Chief of Office of Military Region 1.

In his congratulatory speech, Major General Hoang Van Nam emphasized: This is not only an honor for the comrades who were awarded the Medal, but also a recognition by the Party and State leaders for the contributions of generations of officers of the General Staff of Military Region 1. The Party Committee of the General Staff congratulates and thanks the comrades for their contributions to the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, building the Army in general and the armed forces of the Military Region.
