Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; leaders of the Ministry; representatives of leaders and key officials of units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ; retired officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Retirees Club and the Central Foreign Affairs Commission.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized: The 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) together with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, is a special historical milestone not only for the Diplomatic sector but also for the whole nation.
Over the past 80 years, foreign affairs forces at home and abroad have coordinated harmoniously, building a comprehensive diplomacy, closely linking Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people's diplomacy, contributing to enriching the glorious and proud history of Vietnamese diplomacy.

The Minister affirmed that the history of the industry is not only present through documents and books, but also comes alive in precious documents, images, and relics, truly reflecting official milestones as well as behind-the-scenes stories, showing the mark of the collective and each individual throughout the 80-year journey accompanying the nation. Collecting and contributing documents and artifacts not only has the value of preserving heritage but is also an act of gratitude to previous generations, inspiring and nurturing professional pride for future generations.
On behalf of the Ministry's leadership, the Minister called on domestic and foreign units, organizations and individuals to actively participate in the movement, providing or introducing documents and artifacts associated with the history of the sector, of each unit, or reflect personal marks in the diplomatic career.
Each contribution, big or small, contributes to the overall picture of the Diplomatic sector and will be displayed in the space of the Traditional Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Minister directed the Diplomatic Academy to be the focal point to receive contributions and have a plan to digitize documents for long-term use and preservation of documents and artifacts, promoting the wide dissemination of documents and artifacts.
At the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen The Phiet, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Retirement Club, represented the veteran cadres to speak in response to the call of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son. He said that the Deputy Prime Minister's call was very timely when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated its 80th anniversary, a long journey accompanying the country with many proud achievements and traditions, as well as timely because many cadres are now old and weak, if they do not collect documents, artifacts, and memoirs in time, it will be a waste and a missed opportunity.
On this occasion, Comrade Nguyen The Phiet presented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with an Australian Aboriginal horn - a gift from the Governor of New South Wales at the end of his term as Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney in 2007.

Also at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Tien Ngoc, Head of the Retired Liaison Committee of the Central Foreign Affairs Department, representing retired officials of the Central Foreign Affairs Department, introduced and presented a bronze book recording the generations of officials who had worked at the Foreign Affairs Department to the Diplomatic Tradition House.
These artifacts will be preserved, displayed and introduced by the Diplomatic Academy in coordination with functional units in the Traditional House space as well as upcoming exhibition events of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to carry out activities to collect, introduce and disseminate collected documents and artifacts through thematic exhibitions, publications and organization of key commemorative events.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs respectfully calls for the active participation of all cadres, civil servants, public employees, and generations of retired cadres inside and outside the sector, to together build a Traditional House worthy of being a symbol of patriotism, dedication, and bravery of the Diplomatic sector.
Thereby, contributes to building a comprehensive and modern foreign affairs and diplomacy, becoming a sharp and elite force, promoting the role of an important, core and trusted force to carry out all missions and responsibilities assigned by the Party and State.
