This afternoon (November 1), Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced new points in the 2025 regular university enrollment work.

Adjust combinations that are no longer suitable

In particular, the most important new point in the school's admission method from 2025 is not to use the admission method based on high school academic results (report cards). The school only retains the threshold conditions to ensure input quality to meet the requirements according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Second, the method of using specialized competency assessment exams becomes an independent admission method. It is expected that this method will include the use of 2 subjects for admission to each major, in which one major subject is multiplied by a coefficient of 2 and one minor subject is not multiplied by a coefficient, helping to comprehensively assess the learning capacity and suitability of candidates with the requirements of each major.

Third, adjust the admission combinations to suit the high school graduation exam subjects from 2025. Accordingly, it is still necessary to maintain the admission combinations of 2024 in the methods using high school graduation exam scores suitable for the subjects from 2025. At the same time, the school will adjust the combinations that are no longer suitable, such as eliminating combinations with natural sciences and social sciences and adding new combinations with economic and legal education, information technology, and technology.

4 expected admission methods in 2025

Not using academic transcripts for admission, in 2025 Ho Chi Minh City University of Education plans to use 4 admission methods with specific quota ratios as follows:

• Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (10% of the target).
• Priority is given to admission and admission of specialized students (10-20% of the target).
• Admission is based on a specialized competency assessment exam, expected to be applied to more than 30 majors (40-50% of the quota for each major).
• Admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam (applicable to 20-40% for majors using admission methods based on specialized competency assessment exams or 70-80% for the remaining majors).

Recruiting new majors at branches

The expected majors to be recruited at the Long An Branch of the University of Education include: preschool education, primary education, physical education, national defense and security education, mathematics pedagogy, literature pedagogy, English pedagogy, history and geography pedagogy. Of which, there are 2 new majors compared to 2024: national defense and security education, history and geography pedagogy. In addition, the branch recruits 1 college major: preschool education.

The branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in Gia Lai province plans to enroll 3 university training majors including: preschooleducation , primary education, natural science pedagogy, and 1 college major: preschool education.

Notably, the school's national defense and security education sector will recruit students through aptitude tests. Specifically, the school has also added an aptitude test specifically for this sector. The selection method includes one cultural subject from the specialized competency assessment test or high school graduation exam and two aptitude tests. According to the school, this method helps to accurately assess the candidate's ability and creates conditions for selecting candidates with the appropriate ability for this sector.

In addition, the school plans to add priority admission subjects. Students from all classes of high schools under Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will be added to the priority admission and admission categories for specialized class students.
