On June 12, a working delegation led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son (Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army) attended the inauguration ceremony and handover of two 30 m2 classrooms and a kitchen to ECSS Nyinkuac Primary School in Abyei (Africa).
According to the report of the Engineering Team, the school was established in 2006, and its infrastructure has been seriously degraded due to armed conflict. Located in the middle of a large and desolate land without a fence, the school lacks classrooms and dining facilities for more than 300 students and 11 teachers.
First and third graders have to study under the trees in the hot weather of the dry season and the humid weather of the rainy season. At mealtime, teachers and students eat lunch under the trees in the hallway.
Faced with this situation, the Engineering Team took advantage of the day off and used old materials from completed projects to help the school. After 10 days, two classrooms with an area of about 30 m2 , each accommodating 30 students, and a 12 m2 kitchen were completed.

"The children no longer have to study outdoors. Thank you, thank you, Vietnam," said Garang Mithiang Arop, the school's math teacher.
Mr. Luar Mayol, representative of the Mijak community, shared: "Vietnam not only strives in its professional duties but also closely connects with the local community, giving us hope for a better life."
On the same day, Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son’s delegation also went to Mijak village to attend the boat handover ceremony for the local people. The representative of the Engineering Team said that the village is located on the main traffic route, close to the large Khor Bumbelo River in the Southern Division. The people here mainly make a living from fishing and travel by iron or wooden boats.
