On the evening of June 8, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the second match of the AVC Nations Cup 2025 group stage, against Taiwan (China). This is the biggest challenge for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team in group A.
However, at home, Bich Tuyen, Thanh Thuy and their teammates had a great match, winning 3-0. Bich Tuyen was the player who scored the most points for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. With 23 points, including 21 attack points with an efficiency of 70% and 2 block points, the 2000-born setter had a great performance. Meanwhile, Tran Thanh Thuy scored 19 points, with an attack efficiency of 56.67%.
"In this match, the players did well in step 1 but the back line defense was still limited. The coaching staff will help the players overcome this to play better in the future. In addition, the two secondary attacking positions only reached 50-60%. Depending on each match, we will play with different lineups for the players to strive for," coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet assessed.

Thus, after 2 matches in the group stage, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has won all matches and has not lost a single set. Notably, with the important victory against Taiwan (China), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team not only has a great chance to continue, but also reaches a historical milestone.
Accordingly, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team was awarded an additional 6.17 points, reaching 123.25 points, surpassing Kazakhstan (120.19 points) to enter the top 30 of the world rankings (FIVB) for the first time, and ranked 4th in Asia.
If they win the AVC Nations Cup, the ranking of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will improve. However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet believes that the most important thing is that the athletes must maintain their form and fitness in order to compete well in tournaments in 2025, focusing on the World Cup and SEA Games.

The AVC Nations Cup 2025 will take place from June 7-14 at Dong Anh Stadium ( Hanoi ). Eleven Asian women's teams will compete in the tournament, including: Australia, India, Taiwan (China), Iran, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong (China), Mongolia, New Zealand, Philippines and host Vietnam.
The teams are divided into two groups, playing a round robin to select the teams to enter the ranking round and compete for the championship. This is a tournament with annual FIVB Ranking points, and the champion team qualifies for the 2026 Asian Women's Championship.
At home, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team aims to defend their championship title. If they complete this task, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will be crowned champions of the Asian Volleyball Championship for the third time.
