On July 22, the National Children's Hospital announced that HNM (10 years old, Hanoi) - one of the survivors of the tourist boat capsize in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh is being cared for and treated at the hospital.
Previously, after being discovered and rescued from the capsized boat, the child was taken to Bai Chay Hospital in a state of acute respiratory failure, treated for injuries, given respiratory support, given antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and psychological stabilization. On the evening of July 20, the child was transferred to the National Children's Hospital.

At the Emergency and Poison Control Department, the child was admitted in a conscious state with many abrasions on his body, especially on his head. Through examination and paraclinical tests, the child was diagnosed with pneumonia after drowning.
The leader of the National Children's Hospital said that the boy's health is currently stable and he has no fever. In addition to physical treatment, the child is also receiving psychological support through intermediate therapy activities from the medical team of the Adolescent Health Department.
"This therapy allows children to gradually approach painful information about their family in a safe environment, minimizing psychological trauma, with emotional support from relatives and professionals," said the treating doctor.
Previously, on the evening of July 19, authorities found a 10-year-old boy named HNM miraculously alive in the passenger cabin of a capsized tourist ship.
When freed from the capsized ship's hold, the baby was cold, hypothermic, and frightened.
Recalling the incident, M. is still scared, saying that at the time of the incident, he was traveling with his family.
While the ship was in Ha Long Bay, it capsized. When the ship capsized, M. was lucky to get into an air compartment, so he tried to stay calm and waited until the rescue team discovered him and took him out.
At 12:55 on July 19, the Blue Bay 58 boat with license plate QN-7105 was carrying tourists to visit route 2 (Sung Sot Cave - Ti Top Island) on Ha Long Bay. The boat was carrying 48 tourists and 5 crew members. At 1:30 p.m. the same day, the boat encountered a sudden storm and at 2:05 p.m., the GPS signal connection was lost.
