Early morning of May 30 (Vietnam time), Bayern Munich officially announced the appointment of Vincent Kompany as the team's new head coach. The former captain of the Belgian national team will be with the Allianz Stadium team under a contract that will last until June 2027.

Bayern Munich's choice of coach Vincent Kompany was called a "shock" by the European press as the 38-year-old coach has little coaching experience. The former player has only coached two not-so-famous teams, Anderlecht and Burnley.

Talking about the reason for choosing coach Kompany, Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: "Vincent Kompany represents the solidarity and team spirit that we need. All members of the club agree that Vincent Kompany is the right coach for Bayern Munich."

Meanwhile, the Belgian coach shared in excitement: "I am looking forward to the challenge with Bayern Munich. It is an honor to work for this club. Right now I am focusing on the basics: Working with the players, building the team. Once the right foundation is in place, success will come."

Before entering the new season, coach Kompany will lead Bayern Munich to play Tottenham as well as have friendly matches in Korea.
