Attending the workshop were leaders of Bat Xat District People's Committee; leaders and representatives of specialized departments under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of the Folk Arts Association; local authorities and 2 artisans of Phin Ngan and Coc My communes.
Implementing the Project "Developing tourism associated with preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Bat Xat district in the period of 2020 - 2025", in 2025, the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Bat Xat district surveyed and assessed the current situation in 9 communes: Trinh Tuong, Ban Xeo, Den Sang, Phin Ngan, Ban Qua, Tong Sanh, Coc My, Nam Chac, A Mu Sung to grasp the current situation of artisans knowledgeable about intangible cultural heritage.
Compared with the regulations for reviewing and approving Folk Artists, this time, Bat Xat district has 2 artists: Mrs. Phan Thi Danh, Dao ethnic group (Dao Tuyen branch) in Coc My commune; Mr. Chao Van Chan, Dao ethnic group (Dao Do branch) in Phin Ngan commune, meeting the standards to propose the Vietnam Folk Arts Association to consider awarding the title of "Folk Artist".
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying the contents related to the steps of surveying, preparing documents, collecting documents, images, and related procedures to propose recognition as "Folk Artist".
At the workshop, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province highly appreciated the work of building the titles of "Excellent Artisan" and "Folk Artisan" of Bat Xat district in the past time, and emphasized that in the coming time, when implementing the 2-level local government model, the locality needs to continue to pay attention to artisans in the area; improve the quality of work to preserve and promote good values in the cultural identity of ethnic groups; have solutions to preserve and promote the value of intangible cultural heritages...
Receiving the opinions of the delegates, the leaders of Bat Xat district said that the locality will soon supplement and complete the dossier according to the requirements of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Folk Arts Association so that the artisans can be recognized as "Folk Artists".
Up to now, Bat Xat district has 4 "Excellent Artisans" and 8 "Folk Artisans" recognized with the title.
