Typhoon Kajiki Approaches, How Is China Preparing to Respond?
China has activated a level IV typhoon and flood emergency response system in Hainan province as Typhoon Kajiki approaches.

(Photo source: THX) The ministry said the Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has begun emergency response measures and dispatched a working group to Hainan Province to support local flood and typhoon relief efforts.
According to the meteorological agency, at 11 a.m. on August 23, the center of Typhoon Kajiki was located about 650 kilometers east of Hainan's Sanya city in the sea and was expected to move west at a speed of up to 25 kilometers per hour with its intensity expected to increase significantly. China's National Meteorological Center issued a yellow alert for Typhoon Kajiki on August 23, warning that the storm was likely to make landfall or pass near the southern coast of Hainan Island around the evening of August 24.
Some areas on Hainan Island are expected to see heavy rain from August 23 to 24, the agency said. It is known that China has a four-level emergency response system, with level I being the most serious response level, and a four-level weather warning system, with red being the most serious warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
