Proper nutrition and rest
The weather in many places across the country is quite erratic at this time, with hot and humid weather during the day and thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night, creating favorable conditions for pathogens to develop. Some infectious diseases are showing signs of increasing such as dengue fever, flu, Covid-19, etc. This has a significant impact on the health of candidates when taking the exam.
Ms. Thu Hong (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi ) shared, my child is taking the high school graduation exam this year, in this hot weather I see that he is tired, I have also sprayed mosquito repellent all over the house, afraid that if he gets dengue fever it will affect his exams and homework.
According to medical experts, hot weather can increase the risk of heatstroke, heatstroke, affect the nervous system, reduce the ability to concentrate and remember of candidates. Therefore, in addition to using protective measures to protect students from the sun before and after leaving the exam room, parents should pay attention to measures to prevent infectious diseases, keep the house clean and airy.
Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Trong Hung, National Institute of Nutrition said that parents need to build a reasonable nutritional regimen for their children at this stage, helping students maintain energy and alertness. It is important to focus on supplementing enough starch, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. Eat lots of fruits, green vegetables, and drink lots of water.
However, everything should be in moderation, too much is not good. Many parents, because they are worried about their children, force them to eat a lot, supplementing them with a lot of food to prepare for the exam, in the end some children end up with bloating, indigestion or even diarrhea.
Some parents believe in folk beliefs and feed their children a lot of lucky foods such as beans, from tofu, green beans to red beans... processed into many different dishes. Or some parents absolutely abstain from foods that bring bad luck such as bananas, peanuts, eggs...
However, eating the same lucky foods for many days in a row is not necessarily a good thing. This not only makes children bored and sick, but also affects their health because there is an excess of one nutrient but a lack of another.
Due to the pressure, many students have tried to study continuously, with little time to rest. In previous exam seasons, there have been many cases where students have studied too hard and have not had enough energy to take the exam, lost their alertness, and even fell asleep in the exam room. Parents and students need to allocate time reasonably between studying and resting, ensuring their health when entering the exam room, avoiding staying up late to study, not getting enough sleep, and waking up not being clear-headed in the morning.
Dr. Truong Hong Son, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine, shared that some parents, because they are worried about their children and are afraid that their children will fail the exam, give their children many types of supplements and functional foods to help develop intelligence, intelligence, and brain health. However, there is no "miracle" medicine that works that quickly, and it will only be counterproductive if you try to take too much during the exam period.
Do light exercise, alternating between study time and rest time, and take advantage of chatting with family members during family gatherings to create a comfortable spirit, helping candidates ensure both physical and mental health when taking the exam.

Avoid mental pressure, anxiety, stress
One of the most important things for students is the mental pressure during exam season. The high school graduation exam is a very important exam, contributing to deciding the future path of students. Therefore, many students are very stressed, anxious, even skeptical about their own abilities, leading to insomnia, irritability, the initial signs of depression.
Student PKL, a candidate of this year's exam season, shared that before the exam day, although my mother did not say anything, but looking at her expression, I knew she had high expectations for me, those expectations were like a heavy backpack on my back, if the exam results were not as expected, I did not know how I would face my mother.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Manh Ha, a psychology and career guidance expert, lecturer at the University ofEducation (Hanoi National University) shared that studying is a process of accumulating knowledge, not just a day or two, or a few days of exams. During this time, if you try to cram knowledge into your head, you may not be able to absorb it all. Parents should let their concern become a spiritual support for their children, not invisible pressure weighing down on them.
Caring needs to be done properly, sharing needs to be done properly. The family's love and encouragement in the right way not only gives children a strong belief, but also gives them more strength before the important exam of their life.
