Vietnamese and Lao press effectively coordinate propaganda and foreign information

On June 17, in the capital Vientiane, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos held a meeting and worked with representatives of Lao press agencies and Vietnamese press agencies stationed in Laos. The meeting aimed to evaluate and discuss solutions to enhance effective coordination in foreign information and propaganda work - an important bridge contributing to the development of Vietnam - Laos relations.

According to Vietnam News Agency, speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam highly appreciated the effective coordination between the two countries' press in foreign information and propaganda work. The positive contributions of the press agencies have contributed to consolidating and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The Ambassador proposed a number of cooperation orientations in the coming time, such as: increasing the sharing of information and professional experience; creating favorable conditions for reporters to work, especially during major events; promoting propaganda content about bilateral relations, innovation achievements, and development policies of each country; applying digital technology to reach the public, especially the youth. The Ambassador also asked the Lao side to support the broadcasting of Vietnam Television's new English-language TV channel in Laos through the VL2000 infrastructure and OTT platform.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Laopaoxiong Navongxay affirmed the important role of the press in nurturing the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. He highly appreciated the close coordination of Vietnamese press agencies in Laos in disseminating information on the guidelines and policies of the Lao Party and State to international friends, while contributing to deepening the close relationship between the two peoples.

The leaders of the two sides agreed to continue to create favorable conditions for professional press activities, increase exchanges and experiences, and support each other in propaganda, aiming to build a modern revolutionary press, closely linked to the development practices of each country and the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs , Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam presented Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs to collectives and individuals of Vietnamese press agencies in Laos for their positive contributions to foreign propaganda and information work.
