Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh clarified the issues raised by the press.

Here, Ms. Vo Thi Que Huong, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance, provided an overview of the socio -economic situation in the first 6 months of 2025.

Accordingly, the GRDP growth rate of Hue City is estimated at 9.39%, higher than the national average (7.31%), ranking 9th out of 34 provinces and cities and 3rd in the Central region. Of which, the industrial - construction sector increased by 12.72%, services increased by 9.43%, agriculture - forestry - fishery increased by 1.3%.

Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the city continues to resolutely implement solutions according to the Resolution of the City Party Committee, People's Council and Decision No. 01 of the City People's Committee. In particular, focusing on controlling plant diseases, removing difficulties in industrial production, promoting disbursement of public investment capital, effectively organizing activities under the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025...

Raising questions at the press conference, journalists and reporters raised many issues related to the progress of traffic works; the list of projects to be started and inaugurated on September 2; the payment of support for people aged 75 and over; the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; handling surplus public headquarters after mergers; the demand and supply of social housing; attracting resort real estate projects; protecting pine forests; the strategy to promote Hue cuisine, etc.

Regarding the two-level local government model, the reporter requested clarification of the initial results after 10 days of official operation, especially the organization of the apparatus, receiving and processing administrative records, and coordination between the city level and the commune and ward levels.

Representatives of the departments directly answered questions from the press. In particular, the Department of Construction said that Hue City is implementing about 700 social housing units out of a total of 1,200 units according to the Government's target in 2025. At the same time, the department is reviewing cases of illegal social housing subleasing for handling.

Regarding the two-level local government model, Mr. Binh said that Hue City has proactively implemented it in accordance with the direction of the Central Government. Up to now, the apparatus, facilities, and equipment have been gradually completed and operated systematically. The city has made the most of existing facilities, avoided wasting resources, and regularly inspected the situation and promptly handled arising issues.

“There will certainly be limitations in the initial stages of operation, especially in some mountainous areas, but the city always provides timely support to ensure smooth operations. Officials, civil servants and public employees have demonstrated a very high sense of responsibility,” Mr. Binh emphasized.
