Apple is expected to launch foldable iPhone and MacBook models around 2025 and 2026.

According to sources from The Information , Apple is developing two different foldable iPhone prototypes, both with clamshell designs.

Apple is also said to have approached a number of component suppliers related to these two foldable iPhone models. However, the above report also indicates that "Apple" may still cancel the project in case the product does not meet the company's strict requirements.

According to MacRumors , Apple CEO Tim Cook first mentioned a foldable iPhone to the company's engineers and designers in 2018. To date, the company is still considering technical issues as well as the high price of the product.

Apple's design team wanted to create a foldable iPhone that wouldn't be as thick as current iPhone models, but limitations in battery and display technology have become barriers to development.

In addition to the foldable iPhone, Apple is also planning to release another foldable iPad or MacBook, which is expected to create a whole new product category for the company.

Rumors suggest the foldable MacBook will have a 20.3-inch display when unfolded and a 15.3-inch display when folded. The device is positioned as a dual-purpose product that can function as a laptop with a virtual keyboard when folded, or as a separate screen when unfolded and used with an external keyboard.
