Anh Vien launched a very meaningful program for children.

On August 24 in An Giang, famous former swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien officially launched a community program called "Swimming Apprentice". This activity aims to prevent drowning and develop swimming skills for children, especially those in remote and disadvantaged areas.

According to statistics, every year Vietnam records thousands of cases of children dying from drowning, mostly from rural areas and places lacking access to swimming pools and water safety courses. These losses leave pain not only for the families but also serve as a warning bell for the whole society.

From there, the practical "Swimming Apprentice" program was born, initiated by former swimmer Anh Vien. With the support of Tay Do Steel Company, each participating locality will be awarded 500 survival buoys and 500 educational books on drowning prevention. The campaign is expected to be deployed in 6 provinces and cities this year, creating opportunities for thousands of children to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect themselves.

Since retiring from competition, Anh Vien has devoted much of her time to coaching and social activities. She shares that swimming is not only a top sport , but more importantly, it is a life skill that can save lives. Anh Vien’s projects over the years have helped sow the seeds of hope for a safer future for Vietnamese children.
