In addition to the practical support from State resources and the active participation of the entire political system, the noble acts of local people have become a great driving force to help the province's work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses achieve many results. With the spirit of "helping each other in times of need", people in the province have not hesitated to join hands to help families in difficult circumstances, those living in dilapidated and unsafe houses, build solid houses.
The story of Mr. Cu Seo Phu’s family in Nam Ky village, Vinh Yen commune, Bao Yen district is a clear example of this noble act. The rosewood tree has a trunk diameter of up to half a meter, and Mr. Phu planted it more than ten years ago, and planned to use it to make furniture for his family at the end of this year. However, when he heard that Mr. Cu Seo Van’s family (a poor household in the same village) was in dire need of wood to rebuild their house according to the “3 hard” standards, Mr. Phu did not hesitate to cut down the rosewood tree to support them.
Mr. Van’s family is one of the poorest in the village, so we were very happy to help him with 2.3 m of wooden planks to build a house. Hopefully, the “3-hard” house will help Mr. Van’s family have a safe, clean and beautiful place to live, without worrying about rain and sun like before.
Eliminating temporary houses is not only a policy, but also a humane action, touching the hearts of every citizen. Understanding that profound meaning, in recent years, the ethnic people of Lao Cai have shown a spirit of solidarity and sharing, contributing significantly to the success of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

For many years, Mr. Nguyen Trung Mo has lived alone in a small, seriously degraded house in Chang village, Thong Nhat commune, Lao Cai city. Recently, Mr. Mo received 3 million VND from the local government; local people supported him with labor days and materials worth about 30 million VND to build a house that meets the 3 hard criteria.
Not only Mr. Mo, from 2024 to now, in Thong Nhat commune, there are 33 households that have received support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses. New houses have been built, more or less with the support of local authorities and people.
Ms. Luong Thi Tuyet Mai, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thong Nhat Commune, shared: In the past time, we have mobilized all resources to support people in removing temporary and dilapidated houses. In addition to the support of the State, we have paid special attention to propaganda and mobilization work for community support. It is gratifying that the calls have received enthusiastic responses and sharing from the people, businesses and benefactors in the area. This is not only a simple material support, but also a source of spiritual encouragement, adding strength to those in difficult circumstances to have more confidence and motivation to rise up in life.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, since the launch until May 19, localities have supported the construction and repair of 7,564 houses (4,549 new construction; 3,015 repairs). The whole province has mobilized 538 billion VND to eliminate temporary houses, of which more than 4 billion VND is from socialized sources.
The image of neighbors contributing labor days, regardless of the sun or rain, to build new, spacious houses has become familiar in many rural areas of Lao Cai. Not only that, many families also voluntarily contribute their own building materials, such as bricks, wood, bamboo, and rattan, to help many households in difficult circumstances turn their dream of settling down into reality. These small but extremely meaningful actions have created great strength, spreading solidarity, creating an increasingly strong community.

The journey of removing temporary houses in localities in the province is not only about newly built and repaired houses, but also contains beautiful stories about humanity, the power of sharing and solidarity. It is the noble actions of the people that have added to the fine traditions of the nation, contributing to building an increasingly rich and civilized Lao Cai.
