Sharing with the press, Colonel, Dr. Saveng Dennamonh, Political Commissar of the Lao People's Army Boarding School for Ethnic Culture, affirmed that to fully understand the strength and depth of the Vietnam-Laos relationship, one must return to its historical roots. Since the birth of the Indochinese Communist Party, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh , the Lao and Vietnamese revolutions have been closely linked, accompanying each other on the path to national liberation.

More than 6 decades have passed, the two nations have "shared the sweet and the bitter, fought together in the same trenches", and together overcome countless sacrifices and hardships. President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "Helping friends is helping ourselves" has become the motto, the spiritual strength that urges the army and people of the two countries to fight side by side, defeating the common enemy. It is in the fierce fire that the steadfast brotherly solidarity has been tested, forged and increasingly strengthened.
Colonel Saveng Dennamonh emphasized that the spirit of solidarity and loyal friendship between Vietnam and Laos, forged through the fire of resistance, has become the core foundation for long-term, stable and sustainable cooperation. The special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is not only an objective law, but also a decisive factor for the victory of the revolutions of the two countries, creating a solid foundation for the relationship to be forever green and everlasting.
On the Indochina peninsula, Vietnam and Laos are two countries with mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers, leaning against the majestic Truong Son range, drinking from the same Mekong River. The more than 2,000 km of border has witnessed the close neighborly relationship of “villages above and neighbors below”, “what is available is what we eat”, “drinking water from the same stream, eating bananas from the same bunch”. The people of the two countries have many similarities in culture, customs, beliefs, and languages, enough to understand and sympathize deeply.
The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples, according to Colonel Saveng Dennamonh, was not formed by chance, but is an inevitable objective law of history. This is the decisive factor for all victories of the revolution in each country.
That solidarity bloc was built on the foundation of true patriotism combined with pure proletarian internationalism, becoming a great source of strength leading both nations to victory. Although the world situation still has many complicated changes, the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos is still increasingly strong, is the common mission of the two Parties, two States, two Armies and peoples of the two countries, and needs to continue to be preserved and nurtured for the long-term future.

The next generation follows the previous generation.
Colonel Saveng Dennamonh quoted the words of the late General Secretary Le Duan about the fighting alliance between the two countries: “No one can count how many mountains and rivers our brave soldiers have crossed; and no one can measure the depth of the affection between our two countries.”
Through that, Colonel Saveng Dennamonh pointed out that from the generation of fathers to the generation of descendants today, the people of Vietnam and Laos continue to follow, hold hands, sacrifice sweat and blood in exchange for freedom and independence. Millions of tons of American bombs were dropped on the mountains, forests and fields of Vietnam and Laos, but could not separate the pure and loyal feelings of the two peoples. Every inch of land, every tree in the majestic Truong Son mountain range bears the mark of brotherhood and comradeship that is rare in the world.
Entering the period of peace and national development, comprehensive cooperation continues to be strengthened. A clear example is the Lao Army Boarding School for Ethnic Culture, an educational facility built entirely with non-refundable aid from the Vietnam People's Army. This is a place to train and nurture children of officers inside and outside the army, in order to prepare the next generation of officers for the Lao People's Army.
Since its establishment in 2022, the school has been visited many times by high-ranking delegations of the Vietnamese Army and presented with many essential equipment for research, teaching and learning. This is a vivid manifestation of the close friendship, not only in words, but also realized through practical actions, contributing to training talents for the future of Laos.
Colonel Saveng Dennamonh concluded that 63 years of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations are a vivid testament to the exemplary, loyal, and pure relationship, a priceless asset that the two nations have the responsibility to preserve and promote. Regardless of the circumstances, the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Laos and Vietnam will always be a solid foundation for the sustainable development of both countries and a shining example of international solidarity in today's era.
