This is one of the biggest youth creative playgrounds of the summer of 2025, attracting a large number of young people who love cinema and visual storytelling. The special feature of the competition is that it requires teams to produce a short film of 3-5 minutes within exactly 24 hours, including all stages: script writing, filming, editing and post-production. In addition to the main work, each team must also submit creative check-in photos, a film promotion video and a behind-the-scenes clip.
After the script qualifying round, 45 teams with feasible and creative ideas were selected for the production round. Each team randomly drew a “thematic plot” with a mandatory traditional cultural element such as banh chung, conical hat, traditional music or reformed opera…, combined with the assigned film genre such as horror, action, detective, history…, creating unique and surprising challenges.

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Hang, Head of the Organizing Committee, the contest is an opportunity for young people to retell Vietnamese cultural and historical stories from a modern perspective, spreading national pride through cinema and technology. The contest also has the support and professional guidance of prestigious judges such as director Dung Nghe, screenwriter Nguyen My Trang, director D.OP Nguyen Tuong Phuong Nguyen, artists Kim Tuyen, Doan Minh Tai, producer Kay Nguyen and journalist Truong Kieu Nga.
The premiere and award ceremony will take place at 7pm on July 20 at Idecaf Stage (HCMC). This is not only a place to honor the best teams but also a screening night for the 5 finalists, with the participation of judges, film experts, sponsors, media and many young people who love cinema.
The total prize value is up to 650 million VND, in which the winning team of “Best Short Film” will receive a 3-day, 2-night trip to Singapore to produce a film in an international environment, fully sponsored by Furen International School. Professional awards (Director, Cinematographer, Actor, Screenplay, Most Favorite Film) will receive cash, medals and English scholarships from accompanying units...
