In recent weeks, the number of dengue fever cases has increased rapidly, with many children hospitalized with severe complications. To effectively protect our children, we need to proactively prevent the disease using the "three-layer blocking" model, which is simple, easy to remember, and easy to implement.

1. Door stopper - prevent mosquito bites

Sleep under mosquito nets both day and night, because Aedes aegypti mosquitoes (which transmit dengue fever) are usually active during the day; wear long-sleeved shirts and light-colored pants when going outside or in places with lots of mosquitoes; kill mosquitoes and larvae; cover water containers...

2. Block from the inside - increase resistance

Helps the body fight viruses effectively, reducing the risk of liver and blood vessel damage. Adequate nutrition such as supplementing vitamin C (oranges, lemons), zinc (red meat, eggs), protein (milk, fish, beans); when children have a fever, do not force them to eat a lot, but divide their meals into small portions for easy digestion; rest properly, limit the use of phones, watching TV → avoid stress, support recovery; use medication properly such as not abusing paracetamol (maximum 4g/day); absolutely do not use aspirin, ibuprofen because it can cause severe bleeding.

3. Prevent subjectivity and negligence - early detection for timely treatment

Detect the disease early to avoid dangerous complications such as shock, liver failure, and bleeding. Closely monitor your child when he or she is sick and take him or her to the doctor immediately if there are dangerous signs: lethargy, restlessness, abdominal pain, vomiting, cold hands and feet, nosebleeds, especially the 3rd to 6th day of the disease is the most dangerous. Dengue fever will be successfully treated when diagnosed early, closely monitored, and treated properly.
