23 Vietnamese boxers enter the finals of the 2025 Asian Pencak Silat

VHO - After 5 days of fierce competition in Ha Tinh, the Vietnamese Pencak Silat team had 23 faces passing the semi-finals to enter the finals of the 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship.

This morning (July 30), the 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025 continued its 6th day of competition with the finals in the two groups of tanding and seni.

The Vietnamese team contributed 34 athletes to this year's tournament. After a tense competition, 23 athletes won the right to enter the finals, including 5 athletes from the performance group and 18 athletes from the combat group.

The faces in the performance group are Dang Thanh Cong (male individual), the couple Vo Binh Phuoc - Dao Duc Hung and the trio Pham Hai Tien - Pham Huy Hoang - Nguyen Manh Hung (male team).

The athletes gave the audience eye-catching moves.

In the fighting group, a series of boxers such as Tran Thi Kim Loan (45kg women), Nguyen Duc Hau (45kg men), Luong Thi Van (50kg women), Nguyen Minh Triet (65kg men), Le Quynh Anh (85kg women) or Le Ngoc Vu (over 110kg men) continued their journey to conquer the gold medal .

The Vietnamese team's goal at the tournament is to win at least 3 gold medals.

Sharing before the decisive match, Luong Thi Van - female boxer in the 50 kg category said: "My opponent, Carpio (Philippines) is very strong. I will concentrate fully and hope that the cheers of the audience will give me more strength to help me win."

Athlete Luong Thi Van - Vietnam Team (red belt) has entered the final match of the women's 50kg weight category in the group competition.

According to the competition schedule, the group finals will take place this afternoon . The closing ceremony and award ceremony - the 2025 Asian Pencak Silat Championship will be held at the Ha Tinh Provincial Sports Center right after the finals.

The 2025 Asian Pencak Silat Championship brings together nearly 400 athletes and coaches from 10 countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. 32 sets of medals will be awarded in two categories: 24 combat weight categories and 8 performance forms. The tournament is jointly organized by the World Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), the Vietnam Sports Department and the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.
