June 21: Journey of commitment: Coming to new schools in remote areas

In the mountainous border district of Bao Lam ( Cao Bang ), on the afternoon of June 19, two days before June 21, the Pac Ra kindergarten project (Ly Bon commune) was inaugurated and put into use.

People were happy when, after exactly 4 months of construction, on the foundation of the school that collapsed due to floods during Typhoon Yagi (September 2024), a new spacious school with 2 classrooms, 2 office rooms, 1 dining room and kitchen, fence system, concrete yard, flower garden... was completed.

The total construction cost of nearly 2.7 billion VND was all contributed by Tuoi Tre readers to support people affected by storm Yagi.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Chinh, Vice Chairman of Bao Lam District People's Committee, said that Bao Lam is one of three districts of Cao Bang that were severely affected by Typhoon Yagi. Thanks to Tuoi Tre newspaper launching and implementing the scholarship program "Preventing dropouts" and rebuilding Pac Ra kindergarten, many difficulties in education and schools have been resolved for the district.

Previously, the inauguration of Quan Din Ngai school helped more than 100 preschool students in remote areas in Bac Ha district (Lao Cai) have a spacious, clean and beautiful school.

In this district, in addition to building schools, Tuoi Tre newspaper also gave breeding horses to create livelihoods for people to escape poverty and help the locality continue to promote the traditional Bac Ha horse racing brand every year.

Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Vice Chairman of Bac Ha District People's Committee, said that Tuoi Tre newspaper has implemented social security programs well for people in the highlands, especially children, to help them go to school.

"In this practical activity, Tuoi Tre newspaper has many volunteer activities and shares with people in difficult circumstances in the highlands. These are timely, heartwarming and responsible shares.

This not only creates the value of the press agency but also creates the image of Tuoi Tre newspaper - in the true sense of volunteering to go to the highlands in general and Bac Ha in particular" - Mr. Tuan said.

In just 4 days, Tuoi Tre inaugurated three kindergartens in the northern mountainous region, which was heavily affected by storm Yagi. These are: Na Pong (belonging to Tan My Kindergarten, Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang) inaugurated on June 16. Quan Din Ngai (belonging to Ban Pho Kindergarten, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai) inaugurated on June 18. Pac Ra (belonging to Ly Bon Kindergarten, Bao Lam district, Cao Bang) inaugurated on June 19.
