The first 6-month financial reporting season of 2025 has witnessed many businesses achieving impressive profit growth rates, up to thousands of percent.
Leading the list of profit growth is the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center (VEFAC, VEF) with a growth rate of up to 8,341%, profit before tax (PBT) reaching 19,081 billion VND. The reason for this impressive growth is that VEF recorded revenue from transferring part of the Vinhomes Global Gate project of 44,560 billion VND.
In second place is National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) with a growth rate of 6,343%, the only bank on the list.
Besides VEF, the remaining name in the real estate sector in the top 15 with the highest profit growth in the first 6 months of the year is Saigon Telecommunication Technology Joint Stock Company (Saigontel), which grew by 2026% compared to a very low base (VND 21.84 billion) in the first 6 months of 2024.
The electricity industry has the most representatives with 4, including 3 hydropower enterprises: Buon Don Hydropower (1,477%), Huong Son Hydropower (1,092%), Vinh Son - Song Hinh Hydropower (441%). The remaining electricity company is Gia Lai Electricity with an increase of 400%.
The securities group occupies 3 positions in the top highest growth in the first 6 months of 2025, including: LPBank Securities JSC (1,807%), VIX Securities JSC (480%), Hai Phong Securities JSC (Haseco) (452%).
The wood industry has Truong Thanh with a profit after tax of 25 billion VND, a growth of 3,714% over the same period.
In addition to high growth, many businesses have turned from losses in the first 6 months of 2024 to profits in the first 6 months of 2025.
For example, Power Generation Corporation 3 - EVN Genco3 (PGV) recorded a change from a negative VND 942 billion in the first 6 months of 2024 to a profit of VND 987 billion in the first 6 months of 2025. Nhon Trach 2, also in the electricity industry, went from a loss of VND 36 billion in the same period of 2024 to a profit of VND 408 billion.
Masan MeatLife went from a loss of VND79 billion to a profit of VND364 billion. Industrial Urban Development Corporation No. 2 (D2D) recorded a profit of VND269 billion, a significant improvement compared to a loss of VND5 billion in the same period last year.
