Alcaraz's problem with consecutive championships

Carlos Alcaraz, the current top young tennis player, could not bring the recent trophy home because he “ran out of space”.

Alcaraz could not bring the trophy home because there was no more room at home.

“My house is full of trophies. We are looking for more space to display them. As for the Queen's Cup... I am not taking it home,” Alcaraz said in an interview with Financial Times' HTSI magazine.

The Queen's Club trophy is much larger than most trophies. The Alcaraz has 21 professional trophies on display, including five Grand Slam trophies (the top four tennis tournaments).

In addition to the trophy, Alcaraz also brings home a few pairs of shoes after each tournament. “I am a shoe collector, my mother always has to remind me that we are running out of space at home,” the young star humorously shared.

Many fans joked that Alcaraz’s family should probably find a bigger place for him to bring the trophy home. The 22-year-old has already achieved remarkable success. “I guess the upcoming Grand Slam titles don’t want to be left out in the yard,” one fan commented.

Alcaraz became a phenomenon in the tennis world right after the reign of three monuments including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. At the age of 19, he was the youngest player to top the ATP rankings. In 2024, Alcaraz became the youngest player to win a Grand Slam on all three surfaces: hard court (US Open), clay court (Roland Garros) and grass court (Wimbledon).

Despite losing to Janik Sinner in the 2025 Wimbledon final, fans have every right to believe that Alcaraz will go further and break more records in the tennis world . Even with a perfect record in major clay tournaments in 2025, he is expected to be the next pride of the Spanish people, after the "king of clay" Nadal.
