From the heart
Exactly 45 years ago, on January 7, 1979, patriotic forces under the banner of the Kampuchean United Front for National Salvation, with the support of Vietnamese volunteer troops, entered Phnom Penh to liberate it, overthrowing the Democratic Kampuchea regime (April 17, 1975 - January 6, 1979) or the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime under the leadership of Pol Pot. This was a major historical event marking the revival of the country and people of Cambodia after 3 years, 8 months and 20 days of mourning under the brutal genocidal regime, which killed millions of people.
