32 food safety violations were punished during the Mid-Autumn Festival

During the peak period of market inspection and control before, during and after the Mid-Autumn Festival from August 6 to September 30, the provincial market management force coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect 81 cases, of which 32 violations were handled. The total amount of administrative fines was VND100 million, the value of destroyed goods was over VND10 million.

Market Management Team No. 3 checks the origin of moon cakes at business establishments.

Before, during and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Market Management Force focuses on inspecting and controlling organizations and individuals producing and trading moon cakes and moon cake ingredients such as: cake filling, pumpkin jam, melon seeds, Chinese sausage, sugar water, fat, salted eggs; additives, colorants, flavorings, food processing aids...

Inspect large-scale moon cake production facilities, suppliers, and gathering places; at the same time, coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities to inspect general food safety conditions such as: Hygiene conditions of production facilities, workshops, equipment and tools... and inspect the recall and handling of expired products and products that do not ensure quality after the Mid-Autumn Festival.

During the inspection, the Market Management Force discovered violations mainly focused on: Trading in goods of unknown origin; transporting dead animals and animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene and food safety requirements for business; using people in direct contact with food without wearing full protective gear as prescribed; violating the provisions of the law on food safety conditions in food preservation... All violating goods were confiscated and destroyed in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Through inspection activities, the Market Management Force combines propaganda to organizations and individuals producing and trading in the province to comply with the provisions of the law on trading goods and ensuring food safety. Publicly announce the name of the establishment, address, and type of violating product on mass media as prescribed to warn and raise legal awareness for consumers.
