Truck overturned on highway ramp, driver and assistant both died

While operating from Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway to National Highway 1A, a truck suddenly overturned, hundreds of finished steel bars fell onto the road, two people died at the scene.

Initial information said that the accident occurred at around 5:30 this morning (July 1) on the road leading from Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway to National Highway 1A. At that time, the truck with license plate 79C-110.95 driven by Le Xuan Lanh (born in 1993, residing in Ben Khe village, Bac Khanh Vinh commune, Khanh Hoa province) was traveling on Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Trung Hiep 2 village, Cam Hiep commune (Khanh Hoa) and then turned onto the road leading to National Highway 1A.

While entering the curve of the approach road, the truck suddenly overturned on the road, hundreds of steel bars being transported on the truck fell onto the road; the front of the truck cabin was dented and deformed. Driver Le Xuan Lanh and assistant driver Doan Y (born in 1994, residing in Ben Khe village, Bac Khanh Vinh commune, Khanh Hoa province) both died at the scene.

Fire and Rescue Police and specialized tow trucks were dispatched to the scene.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province Police dispatched a specialized rescue vehicle with 6 officers and soldiers to the scene to use tools to pry and cut the cabin's iron frame, and put the bodies of the two victims onto a specialized vehicle of Khanh Hoa 115 Center. Specialized vehicles were also mobilized to the scene to tow the truck that had the accident. A joint working group between the Office of the Criminal Police Department, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Procuracy, and Cam Hiep Commune Police conducted a crime scene and autopsy examination.

According to a private source of CAND Newspaper reporter, the owner of the truck that had the accident was Nguyen Quynh Phuong, residing in the commune, Khanh Hoa province. The vehicle was a type of vehicle that transports wooden pallets. The vehicle was manufactured in 2015 and has a term of use until 2024. The vehicle was inspected at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Motor Vehicle Inspection Center on May 6, 2025, valid until November 5, 2025.
