Digitalizing vocational schools
The workshop was organized by Quy Nhon College of Technology (QCET) in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of VocationalEducation and Social Work, Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VAVET SOW), and the Vietnam Association of Non-Public Vocational Colleges (VANC).

In his opening speech, Mr. To Xuan Giao - Vice President of VANC, Deputy Head of VAVET SOW Representative Office, said that digital transformation is no longer a trend but has become an inevitable trend and an important driving force for socio -economic development. In vocational education, digital transformation plays a key role in improving the quality of training high-quality technical human resources, meeting the requirements of the digital labor market.
According to Mr. Giao, in just the past 3 years, the VAVET SOW representative office in Ho Chi Minh City has supported more than 50 secondary schools and colleges nationwide to access teacher training programs, digital learning resources, artificial intelligence applications and open learning spaces, contributing to the comprehensive digitalization of teaching and learning activities. In particular, the AI GPT classroom models, Alchatbot enrollment, digital learning materials, and 2-way virtual-real practice rooms have helped students have a modern learning experience, closely linked to the real labor market.
“To build a successful digital school, we cannot only change the equipment, but also need to change the mindset from leaders to lecturers. Organizing, storing, retrieving and evaluating data in the digital environment must be closely linked to the digital competency framework and market practices,” Mr. To Xuan Giao emphasized.
Meanwhile, according to Mr. Pham Van Tuong - Vice Principal in charge of QCET, operating digital transformation in colleges requires a specific plan, building a training strategy for staff, teachers, students, and developing digital resources. Along with accessing technology, digital transformation needs to position the brand, the mission of the school is to retain the profession. To do that, in addition to the state support policy, promoting the internal strength of the school, the companionship and support of businesses is extremely important.
“The workshop is a practical forum for units and schools to share experiences and solutions for applying technology in management and teaching, aiming at the goal of modernizing and comprehensively digitizing school activities in the era of national development,” Mr. Pham Van Tuong expected.

At the workshop, experts, speakers, and managers shared specialized reports revolving around the topic of building digital schools based on the digital competency framework. Expert Le Trung Nghia - Institute for Research, Training and Development of Open Educational Resources, introduced the digital competency framework, open educational resource framework version 2.0, digital transformation applications in healthcare, green tourism, education and technical training, and vocational training.
Expert Le Quang - Director of AI Education training, shared about digital learning materials from Google, AI applications in teaching, Google Gemini Academy; representative of MAPLE Center for Science, Technology and Economic Development shared about the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and Chatbot integrated with GPT in enrollment and school management.
Enterprises accompany, students are ready to integrate
On the same afternoon, within the framework of the workshop, a discussion was held on the role of businesses and cooperation in vocational education. Speakers from Win VN Group, Haio Education, Diamond Gold Group, Vietnam Education Development and Human Resources Supply Joint Stock Company focused on discussing topics such as AI training linked to recruitment, internship models - practical jobs, domestic and international joint programs, transferring human resources abroad, etc.

Delegates also discussed the role of businesses in recruiting and career orientation for graduates. Supporting students to access domestic and foreign labor markets, improving international integration capacity through skills classes to supplement applied knowledge.
Organize internships, production internships, and professional practice for students at domestic and foreign enterprises. Enhance practical experience, help students quickly get acquainted with the professional working environment, thereby forming a mindset for choosing a career for the future.

QCET Vice Principal Pham Van Tuong emphasized that the workshop is not only a forum for sharing, but also a starting point for the journey of connection - innovation - development. From a digital platform, a digital learning school will be built, better serving learners, society and businesses.
“The workshop ended with a commitment to continue implementing school digitalization initiatives and strengthening cooperation between the three parties: state - school - business, towards the goal of sustainable development of vocational education in the 4.0 era,” Mr. Pham Van Tuong expected.
