At the beginning of the trading session, Vietnamese stocks were filled with green. As of 9:15 a.m., the VN-Index jumped above the 1,564-point mark. However, by 10:20 a.m., the VN-Index suddenly dropped nearly 30 points and is currently trading around the 1,540-point mark.
As of 10:20, the total value of matched transactions in the entire market reached more than VND26,600 billion. The board was strongly differentiated with 83 stocks increasing, of which 5 stocks hit the ceiling; 36 stocks kept the reference price and 237 stocks decreased, 2 stocks hit the floor.
Leading the group of stocks negatively impacting the index is TCB. In addition, HDB, VHM, FPT , LPB, VIC... also recorded negative impacts on the market.
Foreign investors continued to net sell at the beginning of today's session. VIX was the most sold code, followed by GEX, SSI, VSC, MWG... On the contrary, this group net bought codes such as VNM, DCM, VCG, STB...

Previously, the stock market on July 28 saw a relatively explosive trading performance. Cash flow was massively pushed into the market with HoSE liquidity exceeding VND46,700 billion, a sharp increase compared to the average of VND30,000-35,000 billion in the first half of July.
Green and purple covered the HoSE and HNX floors. VN-Index closed the session up more than 26 points, surpassing 1,557 points, reaching an all-time high.
In the US stock market, the S&P 500 index also set a record for the sixth consecutive session. At the close of the session on July 28, the S&P 500 index increased by 1.13 points, equivalent to 0.02%, to 6,389.77 points and the Nasdaq Composite index increased by 70.27 points, equivalent to 0.33%, to 21,178.58 points.
Investors are now awaiting a policy announcement from the US Federal Reserve (Fed) on July 30. The Fed is widely expected to keep interest rates unchanged even as Mr. Trump has increased pressure on Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to lower borrowing costs.
