According to the special correspondent of VNA, on the morning of September 4, on the occasion of attending the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and working in China, President Luong Cuong had talks with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
At the meeting, President Luong Cuong conveyed warm regards and best wishes from General Secretary To Lam and key Vietnamese leaders to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and key Chinese leaders.
The President congratulated China on successfully organizing the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit; expressed gratitude to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping for sending a congratulatory message and sending a high-level delegation led by Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, as well as sending military personnel to participate in the parade.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping sent his warm regards to General Secretary To Lam and the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam; expressed his respect, appreciation and sincere thanks to President Luong Cuong for leading the Vietnamese delegation to attend the ceremony.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping warmly congratulated Vietnam on successfully celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, emphasizing that the two countries need to strengthen strategic cooperation, protect international justice and fairness, and create stability and positive energy for peace and development in the region and the world.
Congratulating China on its great development achievements in recent times, President Liang Qiang believes that the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary and President Xi Jinping as the core, will continue to grow and become a modern socialist power, making increasingly positive contributions to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider strengthening and developing Vietnam-China relations an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority in the overall foreign policy.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed his support for Vietnam in moving towards socialism in accordance with the country's situation and supporting Vietnam to successfully organize the 14th National Congress.
In an atmosphere of friendship, sincerity, trust and openness, the two heads of state expressed their delight at the positive developments in Vietnam-China relations in recent times, especially after the mutual visits between General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in two consecutive years 2024 and 2025.
The two sides discussed in depth the directions and major measures to further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and build a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance in the coming time.
President Luong Cuong suggested that the two sides continue to increase high-level and all-level contacts between key sectors of diplomacy, defense, and security; improve the effectiveness of theoretical research exchanges; strongly promote substantive cooperation, with key areas being science and technology, innovation, high-quality human resource training, accelerate strategic transport connectivity with priority given to railway cooperation, raise the level of high-quality investment, promote economic-trade, education, and tourism cooperation for balanced and sustainable development.
President Luong Cuong suggested that both sides make efforts to create a favorable atmosphere for the overall bilateral relations that are progressing well; strengthen friendship propaganda, organize people-to-people exchange activities so that people of the two countries, especially the younger generation, can better understand the tradition of Vietnam-China friendship.
Regarding maritime issues, the President stressed that both sides need to make efforts to better control and handle disagreements, put themselves in each other's shoes, respect each other's legitimate and legal interests, in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Appreciating the cooperation proposals of President Liang Qiang, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping agreed to promote high-level and all-level exchanges, enhance the exchange of experiences in Party building and national governance; and effectively implement the Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee Meeting and the 3+3 strategic dialogue mechanism.
Emphasizing the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides soon organize the First Meeting of the Joint Railway Cooperation Committee; strengthen cooperation in emerging fields, continue to effectively implement activities in the Year of Humanitarian Exchange to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and effectively carry out humanitarian aid projects, bringing practical and concrete benefits to the people of the two countries.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to maintain coordination and cooperation in multilateral forums, promoting peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world./.
