At the end of the tournament, the Vietnamese delegation led the whole delegation with a total of 46 medals of all kinds, including 14 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 16 bronze medals. In second place was the UAE delegation with a total of 16 medals, including 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. In third place was Kazakhstan with 20 medals of all kinds, including 7 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals.
The Vietnamese delegation won the first place overall at the 2025 Asian Muay Championship.
Meanwhile, countries in the Southeast Asian region ranked from fourth to seventh, including: Thailand (6 gold medals, 4 silver medals); Philippines (5 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 2 bronze medals); Malaysia (2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal); Indonesia (1 gold medal, 3 silver medals, 4 bronze medals).
This result shows the clear superiority of the Vietnamese team compared to the other competitors. According to the head coach of the national Muay team, Duong Ngoc Hai, in terms of professional quality, the national Muay team has shown much progress compared to previous tournaments. However, the athletes still need to continue to train to prepare for other international tournaments.
According to coach Duong Ngoc Hai, in Asia, Vietnam's direct competitors are still Thailand, Kazakhstan and UAE... Only when athletes have thorough preparation and the highest determination can they continue to succeed.
The Asian Muay Thai Championship was held from June 20 to 25, bringing together more than 300 coaches, athletes, and referees from 19 countries and territories. The athletes competed for 50 sets of medals in 28 combat weight categories and 8 technical performance events. The Vietnamese sports delegation had 50 athletes participating.
