Preparing for the tournament, the Vietnamese 7-a-side football team gathered in Ho Chi Minh City on August 10 with 19 players. Among them was a foreign player, Claudecir - a former Brazilian striker who played in the V-League for many years.

Arriving in Vietnam on August 12, the Thai 7-a-side football team and Kampung Rawa Club (Malaysia) have been practicing hard to get familiar with the field and have played friendly matches with Vietnamese clubs to improve their skills.
