On July 3, the entire football world was shocked by the news that Liverpool player Diogo Jota passed away in a traffic accident.
The Portuguese star and his brother Andre Silva were traveling on the A52 highway, near Zamora (Spain) when the Lamborghini suddenly lost control and caught fire.
Images from the scene show the car completely destroyed. Spanish police are still investigating the incident. However, some initial information suggests that the tire may have burst while Jota and his brother were traveling at high speed.
It is worth noting that these two players could have escaped if they had chosen a different travel option. According to ESPN Portuguese journalist Rui Laura, Jota is on his way to England to join Liverpool in preparing for the new season.
However, he did not choose to fly, but instead chose to travel by road. The Jota brothers departed from Portugal and died when they reached Spain.
The reason the late Portuguese player did not choose to travel by plane was because he had just undergone surgery.
Rui Laura revealed: "Jota's surgery was a lung operation. Doctors advised him not to fly. Jota had the accident while on his way to the port city of Santander in Spain to take a ferry to England. He was then going to continue his journey by road to Liverpool."
When this information was posted, many fans felt sorry for the unfortunate star. Many people believed that if he had been on a plane, Jota would not have had such a tragic accident.
