Vietnam team calls back Doan Ngoc Tan, Phan Tuan Tai

(Dan Tri) - The Vietnamese football team will gather again on August 29 in Hanoi, starting the third training session in 2025 to prepare for the next matches in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

In preparation for the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, scheduled to take place next October, the Vietnam national football team will have a training session in September during the FIFA Days (match days for national teams according to FIFA regulations).

This training session is important in reviewing, checking and evaluating the force. The call-up list not only includes familiar pillars but also welcomes many promising new faces. Notably, the appearance of goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan (Hanoi FC), defender Tran Hoang Phuc (HCMC CA), Dinh Quang Kiet (HAGL), midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh ( Nam Dinh Blue Steel) and striker Pham Gia Hung (Ninh Binh).

In addition, the team also recorded the return from injury of midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan (Dong A Thanh Hoa) and defender Phan Tuan Tai (The Cong Viettel ), promising to increase the depth of the squad.

In the context that head coach Kim Sang Sik is busy leading the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Qualifiers, the national team training work will be entrusted to Acting Head Coach Dinh Hong Vinh.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will have two important practice matches at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. The first opponent is the Hanoi Police Club on September 4, followed by the Nam Dinh Steel Club on September 7. With a strong force, especially high-quality foreign players, both clubs are expected to be ideal "green troops", providing valuable tests for the team before the decisive matches in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
