The highlight of this tournament is the running route. Athletes will have the opportunity to walk through famous historical sites in Quang Tri, associated with the heroic memories of the Vietnamese people.
From Quang Tri Citadel, Thach Han River, to other historical sites, each step of the athletes will be a tribute, a discovery of the past, helping them feel more deeply about the resilient will and indomitable spirit of the people of Quang Tri.
International athletes admire the spirit of Vietnam Marathon
Ms. Patrizia Bernardino, from the Philippines, shared: “I felt very tired but extremely happy because I finished the 21km race. The weather was quite hot and the spirit of the athletes made the competition even hotter.
Today's running route was very beautiful, flat and passed through many famous landmarks of Quang Tri. It was a great feeling to run and explore this land.
This is the second time I have participated in the Dan Tri newspaper race. Last year, I also registered for Aqua Ha Long 2025. I appreciate the scale and quality of the tournament, and maybe next year I will participate again."
On the morning of August 3, right after the starting signal was given from Ho Chi Minh Square (Dong Hoi, Quang Tri), international athletes could clearly feel the special energy from the Vietnamese running community. Many expressed surprise at the thorough preparation and serious but optimistic attitude of the host athletes.

Dmitril, from Russia, said: “It was a great race, I could feel the heat of the tournament as soon as I arrived. I am very happy to finish the race, my initial goal was to take first place but it seemed very difficult.
Although I was up to third place at times, I fell behind 5km from the finish line. The weather in Quang Tri made me tired and then other athletes gradually passed me.
Looking at the Vietnamese athletes racing towards the finish line, I thought I couldn’t give up and continued running, I was so happy to finish the race. Even though I didn’t achieve my goal, this will be a memorable moment.”
Along with that, athlete Awahara from Japan also commented: “Vietnamese athletes have very good physical strength, they maintain speed throughout the distance and accelerate when necessary. This is a great tournament, everyone has tried very hard, thank you, thank you to the organizers.
You guys did a very professional job and prepared everything thoroughly. Every 2km there was a water station with snacks: bananas, watermelon, and energy drinks. The medical team was always on duty during the entire tournament so I felt very secure. I hope there will be more tournaments like this.”

The 42km event found two champions: Tran Van Thap (male, 2 hours 57 minutes 23 seconds) and Le Minh Tuan (female, 3 hours 16 minutes 44 seconds). Meanwhile, the 21km distance honored two champions: Pham Ngoc Hoang (male, 1 hour 17 minutes 42 seconds) and Doan Thi Oanh (female, 1 hour 26 minutes 29 seconds).
Le Trong Phu (male, 36 minutes 29 seconds) and Phung Thi Kim Anh (female, 46 minutes 27 seconds) were also named as winners in the 10km event. The 5km distance honored two champions, Tran Minh Quy (male, 16 minutes 38 seconds), Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh (female).

Quang Tri International Marathon - Camel Cup 2025 is not only the first major international race in the land of "many heritages - much sunshine and wind", but also an invitation to harmonize sports - history - culture with domestic and international athletes.
This is considered a solid stepping stone to turn Quang Tri into an annual marathon destination, where every running step becomes rich in emotion and local identity.
