This year's National Futsal HDBank Cup will have two groups, including: Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Titans, Hanoi, Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City (Group A); Thai Son Bac, Sahako, Luxury Ha Long, Tre Ho Chi Minh City (Group B).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vu Hai Quang, Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam , Deputy Head of the Tournament Steering Committee emphasized: The 2025 HDBank National Futsal Cup is a special season, taking place in the atmosphere of the whole country towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. All participating teams are representatives of the aspiration of Vietnamese futsal to reach the continental level, where every beautiful goal, every moment of effort on the field will add inspiration, nurturing the love of futsal in the hearts of domestic fans.
This year's Futsal tournament has a highlight in its communication work, expressed through the song "Glory on the Steps" composed by musician and singer Hoang Bach. The song is a combination of a vibrant melody and passionate lyrics that will inspire and spread the message: Victory is not just a destination, but a courageous journey to overcome one's own limits.
According to the tournament rules, the teams will compete in a round robin to calculate points in the group stage, the first and second teams in each group will compete in the semi-finals, then continue to compete for the championship. Meanwhile, the two losing teams in the semi-finals will compete for 3rd place, the two third-placed teams will compete for 5th place, and the two bottom-placed teams in each group will compete for 7th place.
The match between Tan Hiep Hung TP HCM (red shirt) and Hanoi (white shirt) ended in a 2-2 draw.
Previously, in the first round of Group A, the opening match of the season was a confrontation between two teams: Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Right from the first minutes of the match, Tan Hiep Hung team had to suffer 2 consecutive goals from Hanoi team scored by Trong Kien and captain Xuan Linh. Under the pressure of being behind, Tan Hiep Hung team attacked more and had a goal to shorten the score to 1-2 thanks to Duc Quyen scoring before the two teams entered the break. Entering the second half, in a situation where goalkeeper Le Hau passed the ball from the home field, the ball was directed towards the goal and was pushed out by Hanoi goalkeeper Tuan Phong, Cong Dai seized the opportunity to score, equalizing the score 2-2 for Tan Hiep Hung team. In the remaining time, the two teams played tit for tat towards each other's goal, but still no more goals were scored, Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City tied with Hanoi at the score of 2-2.
In the second match, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City team won 1-0 against Saigon Titans team.
This year, the HDBank National Futsal Cup will kick off just over a month after the 2025 National Championship ends. The tournament is being held earlier to create a continuous competition rhythm for the clubs, while also giving the Vietnam Futsal team more time to focus on preparing for the 2026 Asian Futsal Qualifiers, which will take place from September 20-24, and the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand later this year.
The tournament will take place at Lanh Binh Thang Stadium until August 12.
